The Exmouth Exodus
Want to ride through the night to the seaside with a
bunch of like minded people? If you do, you might have
already tried the Dunwich
Dynamo, from Hackney to Dunwich. We did, and we loved it,
but it's a long old way back to the West Country from the North
Suffolk coast. And so it is that the Exmouth Exodus came to be.
It's based on the Dunwich Dynamo model and will be:
A free to
enter ride through the night to the seaside, about 100
miles
On a Saturday near a full moon that doesn't clash with the DD. The provisional date for 2009 is 8 August.
Starting
in Bristol, and finishing at Exmouth
On mostly
minor roads, with three major climbs and plenty of other lumps
and bumps, as well as some flat bits...
There's lots more you might want to know, and if you cast your
eyes over the FAQs you'll probably find
the info you need. if not, just post a message on the forum,
or contact us and we'll get in touch.
EEIII: It was dry!
The third annual Exmouth Exodus was a significantly bigger affair than the previous two, with about 150 riders attracted by the prospect of dry weather, hot food halfway and two other tea stops. And it was a fantastic night. Big thanks go to Chuffy and Bags for staffing the red lobster van, Helen, Sarah and Dave for dishing out the pasta and snacks in North Curry, everyone at Channing's Hotel for seeing us off and the Harbour View cafe for welcoming us with great nosh and great weather. Well done to everyone that completed the 100 miles, commiserations to anyone whose bike/legs/constitution wasn't prepared to carry them to the finish on the night. There's always next year!

Help with the running costs
It doesn't cost a great deal to run the Exmouth Exodus, but we're always grateful for any donations to help balance the books. Money from sales of food and tea should cover the expenses for this year, but if you want to make a donation to the running costs then click on the link below. Thanks!
